However, Lydiard by no way = LSD. These guys were moving when they were running. Each run was supposed to be at the hardest aerobic effort. (look at how fast they were running their training runs) These guys were told by lydiard to run at fastest aerobic pace. What i am trying to say people thing LSD, and jogging come from Lydiard but these are misconceptions just because he advocated 100 miles a week and when he came over to give talks this blew ppl out of the water that athletes were putting this type of volume in. However, I still think your comparison holds and would have never thought of that myself.
